Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 4.95% or 0.0020 points to trade at 0.0424 at the close. Meanwhile, Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) added 3.40% or 0.1600 points to end at 4.8600 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was up 3.40% or 0.044 points to 1.338 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which fell 4.31% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.107 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 3.28% or 0.020 points to end at 0.590 and Public Power (AT:DEHr) was down 2.88% or 0.04 points to 1.35.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 60 to 42 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) fell to 5-year lows; down 3.28% or 0.020 to 0.590.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.43% or 18.25 to $1298.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.47% or 0.25 to hit $53.38 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.28% or 0.17 to trade at $61.26 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.86% to 1.1402, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.8659.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.74% at 95.585.
