Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Retail, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr), which rose 3.91% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.330 at the close. Meanwhile, AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) added 3.36% or 0.050 points to end at 1.550 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) was up 3.16% or 0.0500 points to 1.6300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which fell 4.42% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.380 at the close. Halcor (AT:XAKO) declined 3.54% or 0.040 points to end at 1.090 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) was down 2.35% or 0.002 points to 0.083.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 54 to 37 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) rose to 5-year highs; up 3.36% or 0.050 to 1.550. Shares in Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) rose to 3-years highs; up 3.16% or 0.0500 to 1.6300. Shares in Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.35% or 0.002 to 0.083.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.13% or 1.64 to $1274.84 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.25% or 1.65 to hit $49.14 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 3.12% or 1.78 to trade at $55.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1722, while EUR/GBP rose 0.66% to 0.8985.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 93.73.
