Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.05% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 6.97% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Intralot (AT:INLr) added 4.09% or 0.04 points to end at 0.97 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 1.57% or 0.06 points to 3.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr), which fell 2.80% or 0.58 points to trade at 20.14 at the close. Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr) declined 1.68% or 0.01 points to end at 0.76 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) was down 1.67% or 0.07 points to 3.83.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 61 to 50 and 28 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.37% or 9.71 to $2,658.11 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.57% or 1.07 to hit $67.23 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.41% or 1.02 to trade at $71.07 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 105.97.
