Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr), which rose 3.38% or 0.04 points to trade at 1.16 at the close. Meanwhile, Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr) added 2.94% or 0.06 points to end at 2.10 and Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr) was up 2.43% or 0.05 points to 2.11 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr), which fell 3.23% or 0.40 points to trade at 11.98 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 1.75% or 0.07 points to end at 3.92 and Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr) was down 1.72% or 0.45 points to 25.65.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 54 to 54 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.14% or 3.45 to $2,541.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.64% or 0.48 to hit $75.06 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.68% or 0.54 to trade at $79.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 101.81.
