* German finmin - euro zone responsibility shared
* Finmin - need to cut deficits, stimulate growth
FRANKFURT, Jan 24 (Reuters) - Germany's Finance Minister reiterated that the euro zone is preparing a comprehensive package to stabilise the embattled common currency, but said other eurozone nations must also play their part.
"European solidarity is not only the obligation of
countries with triple A ratings," Wolfgang Schaeuble told
executives gathered at the annual reception of exchange
operator Deutsche Boerse
"Greece and Ireland need to take steps," Schaeuble said.
Schaeuble reiterated that stabilising the eurozone is the "best alternative" for Germany.
In a sign that German politicians are seeking to win over markets, Schaeuble avoided blaming "speculators" for exacerbating the eurozone crisis and instead called on member countries to take measures to contain the crisis. (Reporting by Edward Taylor and Harro Ten Wolde; Editing by Andrew Hay)
