Rumors drive Wall Street action on any given trading day. Today was no exception. Below are four rumors that were buzzing around trading desks today:
- Roku (NASDAQ:ROKU) stock jumped 8% on takeover rumors after the company filed an amended Amended and Restated Severance Benefit Plan, which included a Change in Control Termination. Sometimes these changes are precursors to a deal.
-
Gap Inc (NYSE:GPS) stock fell nearly 4% Thursday on word that Kanye West formally informed the company that he is terminating their partnership. The rumors look legit but no formal announcement has come from the company yet.
-
Rumors abound that private equity firms KKR and GIP are pursuing Vodafone's (NASDAQ:VOD) $13 billion tower unit. EQT (NYSE:EQT) is also said to be in the mix for the unit. The rumors were first reported by Bloomberg News.
- Australian billionaire Brett Blundy boosted his stake in Victoria's Secret & Co. (NYSE:VSCO) beyond 10% which has the rumor mill churning that something else could be brewing.
