Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 2.27%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which rose 0.03% or 0.01 points to trade at 30.93 at the close. Meanwhile, Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) fell 0.41% or 0.017 points to end at 4.163 and KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) was down 0.42% or 0.18 points to 42.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV), which fell 4.80% or 0.510 points to trade at 10.110 at the close. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) declined 4.71% or 0.255 points to end at 5.160 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) was down 4.47% or 1.69 points to 36.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 137 to 21 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.80% or 0.510 to 10.110. Shares in Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.71% or 0.255 to 5.160.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 3.44% or 1.97 to $55.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 3.63% or 1.75 to hit $46.42 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.68% or 8.50 to trade at $1264.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.71% to 1.1457, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.9043.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.66% at 95.847.
