Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 1.18% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kesko Oyj (HE:KESKOB), which rose 0.74% or 0.38 points to trade at 51.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 0.68% or 0.0360 points to end at 5.3020 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) was up 0.49% or 0.08 points to 16.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which fell 4.21% or 0.316 points to trade at 7.182 at the close. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) declined 3.01% or 0.94 points to end at 30.31 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was down 2.32% or 0.400 points to 16.855.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 98 to 47 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kesko Oyj (HE:KESKOB) rose to 5-year highs; rising 0.74% or 0.38 to 51.74.
Brent oil for August delivery was down 1.40% or 1.05 to $73.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $65.67 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.34% or 4.30 to trade at $1270.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.1600, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8758.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 94.57.
