Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 1.86% or 0.115 points to trade at 6.285 at the close. Meanwhile, Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) added 1.50% or 0.29 points to end at 19.97 and Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) was up 0.95% or 0.050 points to 5.314 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Konecranes ABP (HE:KCRA), which fell 4.10% or 1.23 points to trade at 28.77 at the close. Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) declined 2.21% or 0.65 points to end at 28.72 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) was down 2.21% or 0.66 points to 29.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 79 to 61 and 20 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 1.33% or 0.82 to $60.68 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.41% or 0.75 to hit $52.26 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 1.15 to trade at $1284.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1393, while EUR/GBP fell 0.55% to 0.8717.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 95.713.
