Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 1.75%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Qt Group Oyj (HE:QTCOM), which rose 4.24% or 2.85 points to trade at 70.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) added 3.92% or 0.53 points to end at 14.05 and Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) was up 3.11% or 0.13 points to 4.37 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mandatum Oyj (HE:MANTA), which rose 0.38% or 0.02 points to trade at 4.50 at the close. Kojamo (HE:KOJAMO) added 0.75% or 0.07 points to end at 9.46 and Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMPO) was up 0.81% or 0.32 points to 39.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 151 to 23 and 16 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 2.34% or 1.75 to $76.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.64% or 1.89 to hit $73.61 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.22% or 32.24 to trade at $2,673.24 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.87% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.77% at 109.13.
