Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 1.22% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which rose 5.66% or 1.60 points to trade at 29.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) added 5.03% or 0.560 points to end at 11.690 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 3.91% or 0.1470 points to 3.9060 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA), which fell 1.49% or 0.078 points to trade at 5.172 at the close. Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) declined 1.00% or 0.19 points to end at 18.75 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) was down 0.86% or 0.031 points to 3.580.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 79 to 71 and 16 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $60.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.59% or 0.31 to hit $51.80 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.49% or 6.35 to trade at $1294.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1407, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8870.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 95.635.
