Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 1.00%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 4.03% or 0.210 points to trade at 5.415 at the close. Meanwhile, Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) added 2.45% or 0.74 points to end at 30.92 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was up 2.41% or 0.250 points to 10.620 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which fell 0.82% or 0.0290 points to trade at 3.4980 at the close. Nordea Bank Abp (HE:NDAFI) declined 0.63% or 0.048 points to end at 7.557 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) was down 0.33% or 0.010 points to 3.043.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 81 to 65 and 23 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 2.26% or 1.27 to $57.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 3.18% or 1.48 to hit $48.08 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 4.00 to trade at $1257.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.56% to 1.1426, while EUR/GBP rose 0.41% to 0.9026.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 96.097.
