Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.94% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 4.33% or 0.18 points to trade at 4.43 at the close. Meanwhile, Qt Group Oyj (HE:QTCOM) added 3.24% or 2.45 points to end at 78.05 and Valmet Oyj (HE:VALMT) was up 2.82% or 0.70 points to 25.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V), which fell 1.46% or 0.27 points to trade at 17.93 at the close. Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:TYRES) declined 1.09% or 0.08 points to end at 7.60 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) was down 0.39% or 0.19 points to 46.69.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 116 to 45 and 27 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.11% or 0.09 to $81.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.18% or 0.14 to hit $77.71 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 7.36 to trade at $2,758.26 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.38% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 109.11.
