Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.88% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMPO), which rose 2.59% or 1.13 points to trade at 44.82 at the close. Meanwhile, UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) added 1.99% or 0.45 points to end at 23.10 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) was up 1.89% or 0.31 points to 16.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which fell 1.04% or 0.0900 points to trade at 8.6050 at the close. Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) declined 0.80% or 0.032 points to end at 3.984 and Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) was down 0.56% or 0.22 points to 38.86.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 89 to 50 and 15 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.44% or 0.83 to $56.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.55% or 0.81 to hit $51.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.10% or 1.25 to trade at $1289.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1781, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8765.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 93.03.
