Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.88% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metso Oyj (HE:METSO), which rose 2.71% or 0.74 points to trade at 28.09 at the close. Meanwhile, Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 2.68% or 0.190 points to end at 7.288 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was up 2.14% or 0.305 points to 14.535 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nordea Bank AB FDR (HE:NDA1V), which fell 0.88% or 0.090 points to trade at 10.190 at the close. YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) declined 0.82% or 0.06 points to end at 6.63 and Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) was down 0.55% or 0.021 points to 3.786.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 99 to 46 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.14% or 0.305 to 14.535.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 1.01% or 0.70 to $68.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.00% or 0.64 to hit $63.31 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.56% or 7.40 to trade at $1334.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.2239, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.8826.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 90.34.
