Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.87% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which rose 3.89% or 0.138 points to trade at 3.683 at the close. Meanwhile, Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 3.53% or 0.1330 points to end at 3.9000 and Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) was up 3.25% or 1.05 points to 33.31 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA), which fell 1.48% or 0.57 points to trade at 37.91 at the close. Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) declined 1.10% or 0.21 points to end at 18.84 and DNA Oyj (HE:DNAO) was down 0.72% or 0.1300 points to 17.8200.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 100 to 47 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.25% or 1.05 to 33.31.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 4.04% or 2.37 to $61.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 4.48% or 2.23 to hit $52.01 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.31% or 4.00 to trade at $1289.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.80% to 1.1532, while EUR/GBP rose 0.41% to 0.9029.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.63% at 94.877.
