Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.80% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V), which rose 2.79% or 1.01 points to trade at 37.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) added 2.59% or 0.290 points to end at 11.480 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) was up 2.35% or 0.53 points to 23.11 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which fell 1.00% or 0.065 points to trade at 6.430 at the close. Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) declined 0.66% or 0.24 points to end at 36.31 and Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) was down 0.60% or 0.35 points to 58.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 80 to 50 and 23 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.65% or 0.35 to $54.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.25% or 0.12 to hit $48.19 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.24% or 3.25 to trade at $1332.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1968, while EUR/GBP fell 0.73% to 0.9015.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 91.87.
