Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metso Oyj (HE:METSO), which rose 2.31% or 0.70 points to trade at 31.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) added 2.24% or 0.45 points to end at 20.30 and Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) was up 2.19% or 0.091 points to 4.243 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which fell 5.28% or 1.36 points to trade at 24.42 at the close. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) declined 1.27% or 0.130 points to end at 10.110 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) was down 0.47% or 0.15 points to 31.85.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 87 to 54 and 20 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.89% or 0.68 to $76.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $66.64 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 5.70 to trade at $1307.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.43% to 1.1622, while EUR/GBP fell 0.78% to 0.8747.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.10% at 94.59.
