Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.59% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 4.90% or 0.355 points to trade at 7.605 at the close. Meanwhile, Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 2.87% or 0.2280 points to end at 8.1800 and Amer Sports Corporation (HE:AMEAS) was up 2.08% or 0.47 points to 23.07 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V), which fell 4.47% or 1.55 points to trade at 33.09 at the close. Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) declined 2.25% or 1.26 points to end at 54.70 and Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) was down 0.73% or 0.40 points to 54.32.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 91 to 54 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) rose to 5-year highs; rising 4.90% or 0.355 to 7.605.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 1.20% or 0.81 to $68.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.64% or 1.01 to hit $62.74 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.65% or 8.60 to trade at $1311.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.40% to 1.1920, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8812.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 92.33.
