Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 6.04% or 0.335 points to trade at 5.880 at the close. Meanwhile, Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) added 1.86% or 0.34 points to end at 18.94 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) was up 1.84% or 0.35 points to 19.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which fell 2.15% or 0.62 points to trade at 28.28 at the close. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) declined 1.61% or 0.51 points to end at 31.26 and Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) was down 0.81% or 0.20 points to 24.38.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 79 to 70 and 18 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 2.10% or 1.24 to $60.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.67% or 1.35 to hit $51.86 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.26% or 3.40 to trade at $1287.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.75% to 1.1388, while EUR/GBP rose 0.30% to 0.8943.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.65% at 95.828.
