Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.24% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Mandatum Oyj (HE:MANTA), which rose 1.85% or 0.09 points to trade at 4.67 at the close. Meanwhile, Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) added 1.77% or 0.24 points to end at 13.79 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) was up 1.04% or 0.44 points to 42.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which fell 2.53% or 0.08 points to trade at 2.89 at the close. Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) declined 1.95% or 0.68 points to end at 34.16 and Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) was down 1.09% or 0.05 points to 4.52.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 89 to 78 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mandatum Oyj (HE:MANTA) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.85% or 0.09 to 4.67.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.05% or 0.04 to $79.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $75.85 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.38% or 10.44 to trade at $2,769.64 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 108.00.
