Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 7.35% or 0.565 points to trade at 8.250 at the close. Meanwhile, Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) added 1.53% or 0.42 points to end at 27.93 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) was up 1.38% or 0.28 points to 20.54 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Metso Oyj (HE:METSO), which fell 1.62% or 0.45 points to trade at 27.28 at the close. Konecranes ABP (HE:KCRA) declined 1.03% or 0.33 points to end at 31.81 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) was down 0.56% or 0.021 points to 3.759.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 78 to 70 and 16 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 2.00% or 1.44 to $70.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.75% or 1.08 to hit $60.59 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 1.80 to trade at $1224.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.1406, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8704.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 96.18.
