Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V), which rose 3.77% or 1.35 points to trade at 37.18 at the close. Meanwhile, UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) added 1.26% or 0.39 points to end at 31.40 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was up 0.88% or 0.130 points to 14.850 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM), which fell 1.79% or 0.39 points to trade at 21.36 at the close. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) declined 1.48% or 0.120 points to end at 7.980 and Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) was down 0.86% or 0.036 points to 4.127.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 71 to 67 and 19 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was down 3.66% or 2.73 to $71.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.90% or 2.70 to hit $66.47 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 0.80 to trade at $1217.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1595, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.9007.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 95.06.
