Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which rose 4.55% or 2.43 points to trade at 55.84 at the close. Meanwhile, Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) added 2.64% or 0.46 points to end at 17.91 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 2.54% or 0.08 points to 3.39 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM), which fell 2.21% or 0.31 points to trade at 13.71 at the close. Qt Group Oyj (HE:QTCOM) declined 1.81% or 1.30 points to end at 70.60 and Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) was down 1.81% or 0.79 points to 42.96.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 85 to 83 and 21 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 1.50% or 1.08 to $73.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.98% or 1.36 to hit $69.95 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.28% or 34.79 to trade at $2,753.19 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 106.22.
