Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 3.31% or 0.2080 points to trade at 6.4980 at the close. Meanwhile, Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) added 3.24% or 0.57 points to end at 18.32 and Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) was up 1.11% or 0.090 points to 8.220 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which fell 8.70% or 2.41 points to trade at 25.28 at the close. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) declined 2.22% or 1.04 points to end at 45.82 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) was down 2.12% or 0.38 points to 17.56.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 74 to 65 and 16 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for May delivery was up 2.51% or 1.69 to $69.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.30% or 1.46 to hit $65.00 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.74% or 9.70 to trade at $1321.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.2264, while EUR/GBP fell 0.41% to 0.8710.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 89.78.
