(Reuters) -An explosion occurred at a CSX Corp (NASDAQ:CSX) train facility in Baltimore, Maryland, on Thursday, the company said, adding that no injuries had been reported and that all employees had been accounted for.
The shockwave from the blast at a coal terminal operated by the company "could be felt Citywide," a firefighter union said in a post on Twitter (NYSE:TWTR). The incident took place before noon.
Members of the city's police, fire and emergency management departments were on the scene, Baltimore City Councilmember Eric Costello said on Twitter. Costello attributed that blast to a propane tank explosion.
"The explosion is isolated to the CSX property, no impact or risk to community, no reported injuries, and cause is unknown at this time," he said.
CSX said the incident was under investigation.
