Investing.com -- Coinbase's (NASDAQ:COIN) advanced trading platform, Coinbase Advanced, has seen a 77% increase in traders in 2024, the company told Investing.com this week.
The crypto exchange's Advanced trading platform, which is intended for more experienced traders, also posted a 191% increase in trades between January 1, 2024, and December 15, 2024.
Additionally, there was a 10,950% increase in derivative volume, while perp contracts rose by 91 and spot assets increased by 47.
"Coinbase Advanced had a standout year in 2024," said Scott Shapiro, senior product director at Coinbase. "We saw more trades and higher volume than ever, with the launch of derivatives and dozens of new asset listings giving our most experienced traders the opportunity to engage with even more of the crypto marketplace."
The Advanced platform provides users with enhanced tools such as interactive charts powered by TradingView, advanced order types, and access to all of the other features offered by Coinbase, including staking, Borrow, Card, and dapp Wallet.
Furthermore, it promises users competitive fees and the ability to trade in and out quickly in over 550 markets.
Shapiro noted that this year, Coinbase Advanced facilitated advanced trades in 118 countries and "will be making it our mission to bring innovative and regulated trading to even more markets around the world in 2025."
Coinbase Advanced replaced Coinbase Pro in 2022, with the company stating on its site that it is "a level up from Pro."
Looking ahead to 2025, Coinbase told Investing.com that its plans for the Advanced platform include perpetual futures for eligible traders in EU markets, while it will also look to implement more advanced order functions.
Furthermore, Coinbase Advanced is also hoping to introduce a more robust, exclusive VIP program next year, as well as a leaderboard with exclusive prizes for traders on the platform.
Shapiro added that the company has heard what its traders want from Coinbase Advanced, and they are "doubling down on making those wants a reality."
"We’re working hard to bring perpetual futures to the EU in 2025, as well as new order types, new platform features and a mobile redesign that will transform the way you trade," he added.
