MILAN, Aug 26 (Reuters) - Italian oil major Eni SpA would consider buying BP assets in which it already has a stake if they were put up for sale, Italian daily Il Sole 24 Ore said on Thursday, citing Eni CEO Paolo Scaroni.
"If BP sells some assets, and so far this has not happened, we would look at those where we are shareholders to exercise the right of option," Scaroni was quoted as saying.
Speaking on the sidelines of an event, Scaroni said Eni could be interested in "Egypt and Indonesia -- but BP has no intention to sell at the moment", according to the newspaper.
