CAIRO, March 23 (Reuters) - Egypt's Supreme Council of the Armed Forces has issued a constitutional decree that includes amendments on the presidency, state TV said on Wednesday.
The amendments were passed in a referendum on March 19 and are designed to pave the way for parliamentary and presidential elections, which could take place as early as September.
The constitutional decree will be in place until a new constitution is written when the new parliament convenes. The army, which took power from President Hosni Mubarak on Feb. 11, suspended the existing constitution. (Writing and reporting by Marwa Awad)
