DuPont announced earnings per share of $0.95 on revenue of $5.20B. Analysts polled by Investing.com anticipated EPS of $0.96 on revenue of $5.22B. That with comparison to EPS of $0.59 on revenue of $20.1B in the same period a year before. DuPont had reported EPS of $0.96 on revenue of $5.43B in the previous quarter. Analysts are expecting EPS of $1.01 and revenue of $5.52B in the upcoming quarter.
DuPont shares are down 10% from the beginning of the year and are trading at $57.69 , still down 32.50% from its 52 week high of $85.47 set on January 30, 2019. They are under-performing the S&P 500 which is up 0.87% year to date.
DuPont follows other major Basic Materials sector earnings this month
DuPont's report follows an earnings beat by Air Products on January 24, who reported EPS of $2.14 on revenue of $2.25B, compared to forecasts EPS of $2.1 on revenue of $2.29B.
Dow had beat expectations on Wednesday with fourth quarter EPS of $0.78 on revenue of $10.2B, compared to forecast for EPS of $0.74 on revenue of $10.08B.
