Investing.com -- Microsoft is set for scrutiny as the Cyber Safety Review Board is expected to issue a scathing report blaming the tech giant for inadequate cybersecurity safety measures that led to a major Chinese hack in the U.S. government last year, the Washington Post reported Tuesday.
Chinese state-linked hackers breached Microsoft's email platform last year, stealing some 60,000 emails from U.S. State Department accounts.
The Cyber Safety Review Board, a panel of US government and private experts, was tasked with investigating the causes of the hack.
Microsoft didn't immediately respond to Investing.com's request for comment.
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) was flat in afterhours trading.
