Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Technology and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 3.42% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB), which fell 0.09% or 0.10 points to trade at 109.00 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB (BR:UCB) fell 1.31% or 0.98 points to end at 74.02 and Argen-X (BR:ARGX) was down 1.31% or 1.20 points to 90.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which fell 14.19% or 1.21 points to trade at 7.32 at the close. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 5.48% or 5.28 points to end at 91.06 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was down 4.99% or 0.530 points to 10.090.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 102 to 15 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in bpost NV (BR:BPOST) fell to all time lows; losing 14.19% or 1.21 to 7.32. Shares in Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.48% or 5.28 to 91.06. Shares in ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.99% or 0.530 to 10.090.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.33% or 4.05 to $1246.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.48% or 1.84 to hit $51.05 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 3.56% or 2.19 to trade at $59.37 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.1385, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8904.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 96.672.
