Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 2.39% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 1.55% or 1.12 points to trade at 73.26 at the close. Meanwhile, Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 0.45% or 0.28 points to end at 62.00 and Cofinimmo SA (BR:COFB) was down 0.09% or 0.10 points to 109.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which fell 6.16% or 5.40 points to trade at 82.20 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 5.12% or 0.505 points to end at 9.357 and KBC (BR:KBC) was down 4.02% or 2.400 points to 57.260.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 96 to 18 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.12% or 0.505 to 9.357. Shares in KBC (BR:KBC) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.02% or 2.400 to 57.260.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.64% or 8.10 to $1264.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 4.07% or 1.96 to hit $46.21 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 3.76% or 2.15 to trade at $55.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.69% to 1.1454, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.9043.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 95.895.
