Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 2.08%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 0.67% or 0.12 points to trade at 18.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 0.43% or 0.24 points to end at 56.62 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was up 0.09% or 0.10 points to 107.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which fell 6.48% or 5.20 points to trade at 75.00 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 5.93% or 1.53 points to end at 24.25 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was down 4.49% or 4.53 points to 96.32.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 93 to 25 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) rose to all time highs; rising 0.43% or 0.24 to 56.62. Shares in Aperam SA (AS:APAM) fell to 3-years lows; down 5.93% or 1.53 to 24.25. Shares in Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.49% or 4.53 to 96.32.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.16% or 2.00 to $1223.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 5.14% or 2.94 to hit $54.26 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 5.21% or 3.48 to trade at $63.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.59% to 1.1386, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.8888.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 96.54.
