Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 2.03% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 3.65% or 2.10 points to trade at 59.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 0.48% or 0.08 points to end at 16.83 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was up 0.05% or 0.02 points to 44.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ageas (BR:AGES), which fell 5.43% or 2.500 points to trade at 43.520 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 4.05% or 3.06 points to end at 72.54 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was down 2.68% or 1.02 points to 36.97.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 109 to 15 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 2.46% or 29.40 to $1222.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.13% or 1.56 to hit $71.61 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.29% or 1.90 to trade at $81.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.51% to 1.1581, while EUR/GBP rose 0.45% to 0.8772.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 94.84.
