Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.98% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Sofina (BR:SOF), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 145.80 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB (BR:UCB) fell 0.63% or 0.42 points to end at 65.96 and Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) was down 0.74% or 0.68 points to 90.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KBC (BR:KBC), which fell 4.42% or 3.040 points to trade at 65.720 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 3.44% or 0.450 points to end at 12.618 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was down 2.29% or 1.88 points to 80.11.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 105 to 19 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.44% or 0.450 to 12.618.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.05% or 0.70 to $1303.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.61% or 1.77 to hit $66.11 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.58% or 0.44 to trade at $74.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.58% to 1.1557, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8718.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 94.72.
