Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.57%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 1.67% or 1.50 points to trade at 91.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) fell 0.03% or 0.02 points to end at 62.08 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was down 0.31% or 0.04 points to 12.87 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which fell 3.94% or 0.67 points to trade at 16.34 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 2.99% or 0.306 points to end at 9.912 and KBC (BR:KBC) was down 2.51% or 1.520 points to 58.940.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 78 to 30 and 12 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.49% or 6.05 to $1247.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.79% or 0.92 to hit $50.55 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.80% or 0.48 to trade at $59.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.1343, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.8997.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 96.625.
