Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Pharma & Bio-technology, Media and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 1.34%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 10.03% or 6.70 points to trade at 73.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 2.53% or 2.260 points to end at 91.600 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was up 1.18% or 0.59 points to 50.56 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB (BR:UCB), which fell 3.77% or 2.86 points to trade at 73.08 at the close. Umicore SA (BR:UMI) declined 2.35% or 1.00 points to end at 41.51 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was down 2.10% or 0.28 points to 13.08.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 62 to 53 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.46% or 5.70 to $1233.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.16% or 0.81 to hit $68.94 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.92% or 0.74 to trade at $79.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1485, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.8797.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 95.48.
