Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 1.34%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 1.37% or 0.18 points to trade at 13.31 at the close. Meanwhile, Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) added 0.38% or 0.40 points to end at 104.70 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was up 0.34% or 0.12 points to 35.54 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which fell 22.02% or 6.14 points to trade at 21.74 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 2.82% or 0.64 points to end at 22.06 and KBC (BR:KBC) was down 1.61% or 1.200 points to 73.220.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 71 to 35 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.13% or 1.70 to $1325.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $60.73 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.05 to trade at $64.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.2374, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8864.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 89.70.
