Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 1.29% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which rose 0.16% or 0.12 points to trade at 75.56 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) fell 0.16% or 0.02 points to end at 12.65 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was down 0.33% or 0.16 points to 47.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which fell 4.83% or 3.10 points to trade at 61.10 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 3.52% or 3.200 points to end at 87.800 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was down 2.83% or 1.29 points to 44.37.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 97 to 13 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.29% or 15.60 to $1190.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.69% or 0.51 to hit $73.83 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.99% or 0.83 to trade at $83.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.1477, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.8787.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 95.53.
