Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 1.29%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which rose 1.22% or 0.56 points to trade at 46.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) added 0.61% or 0.49 points to end at 80.65 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was up 0.45% or 0.50 points to 110.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which fell 13.07% or 2.39 points to trade at 15.89 at the close. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 5.73% or 6.75 points to end at 111.00 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was down 2.88% or 2.240 points to 75.600.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 58 to 46 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in bpost NV (BR:BPOST) fell to 3-years lows; falling 13.07% or 2.39 to 15.89.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.65% or 8.50 to $1314.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.31% or 0.21 to hit $67.72 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.09 to trade at $73.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.1977, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8830.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 92.35.
