Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Media, Industrial Engineering and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 1.28%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 0.51% or 0.40 points to trade at 78.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 0.11% or 0.02 points to end at 18.65 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 107.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telenet Group Holding NV (BR:TNET), which fell 3.12% or 1.32 points to trade at 41.04 at the close. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 2.72% or 2.64 points to end at 94.32 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was down 2.06% or 0.81 points to 38.49.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 71 to 38 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.72% or 2.64 to 94.32.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.02% or 0.30 to $1227.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.41% or 0.77 to hit $53.86 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.26% or 0.80 to trade at $62.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.1406, while EUR/GBP fell 0.61% to 0.8855.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 96.375.
