Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 1.24% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 2.29% or 0.57 points to trade at 25.65 at the close. Meanwhile, ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 2.06% or 0.265 points to end at 13.150 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 0.16% or 0.20 points to 124.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which fell 9.41% or 3.83 points to trade at 36.81 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 2.41% or 1.53 points to end at 61.87 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was down 2.32% or 0.49 points to 20.82.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 72 to 68 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.74% or 9.05 to $1207.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.55% or 0.25 to hit $45.17 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.43% or 0.20 to trade at $46.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.0592, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.8589.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.35% at 101.35.
