Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 1.03% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 0.64% or 0.10 points to trade at 14.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) fell 0.02% or 0.01 points to end at 44.64 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was down 0.12% or 0.050 points to 40.455 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 5.10% or 4.240 points to trade at 78.850 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 3.97% or 1.84 points to end at 44.62 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was down 3.68% or 1.03 points to 26.98.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 90 to 22 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.24% or 3.10 to $1286.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.67% or 0.38 to hit $57.19 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.66% or 0.42 to trade at $63.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.1646, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8862.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 94.40.
