Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 1.02% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (BR:UMI), which rose 2.59% or 1.02 points to trade at 40.39 at the close. Meanwhile, Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) added 1.82% or 1.78 points to end at 99.38 and Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) was up 1.76% or 1.38 points to 79.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which fell 10.38% or 7.51 points to trade at 64.85 at the close. Argen-X (BR:ARGX) declined 6.16% or 4.30 points to end at 65.50 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was down 4.40% or 3.960 points to 86.040.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 59 to 58 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) fell to 5-year lows; losing 10.38% or 7.51 to 64.85.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.38% or 4.70 to $1232.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.55% or 0.37 to hit $67.19 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.37% or 0.28 to trade at $76.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.1370, while EUR/GBP rose 0.29% to 0.8869.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 96.41.
