Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.95% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (BR:UMI), which rose 7.78% or 3.18 points to trade at 44.08 at the close. Meanwhile, Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 1.44% or 0.85 points to end at 59.95 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was up 0.92% or 0.40 points to 44.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 3.12% or 2.860 points to trade at 88.780 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 2.70% or 1.80 points to end at 64.92 and KBC (BR:KBC) was down 2.44% or 1.820 points to 72.880.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 87 to 30 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.02% or 0.30 to $1319.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 3.03% or 1.85 to hit $59.30 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.84% or 1.84 to trade at $62.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.2218, while EUR/GBP rose 0.72% to 0.8865.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 90.39.
