Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.91%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which rose 0.85% or 1.40 points to trade at 166.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Elia (EBR:ELI) added 0.74% or 0.70 points to end at 95.90 and Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB) was up 0.70% or 1.30 points to 186.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which fell 5.79% or 0.67 points to trade at 10.90 at the close. Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) declined 4.95% or 3.91 points to end at 75.03 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was down 4.69% or 1.32 points to 26.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 74 to 29 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.33% or 35.50 to $2,630.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 4.47% or 3.45 to hit $73.69 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 4.45% or 3.60 to trade at $77.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 102.32.
