Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Pharma & Bio-technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.87%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group Holding NV (BR:TNET), which rose 2.97% or 1.18 points to trade at 40.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Proximus NV (BR:PROX) added 1.61% or 0.37 points to end at 23.42 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.30% or 1.160 points to 90.560 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which fell 3.45% or 0.28 points to trade at 7.96 at the close. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) declined 2.35% or 1.54 points to end at 64.00 and UCB (BR:UCB) was down 1.87% or 1.40 points to 73.46.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 59 to 55 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.35% or 4.55 to $1302.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 3.71% or 1.99 to hit $51.70 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 3.08% or 1.90 to trade at $59.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.1438, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.8684.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 95.352.
