Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.82%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI), which rose 0.83% or 0.46 points to trade at 55.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) added 0.47% or 2.20 points to end at 467.10 and Elia (EBR:ELI) was up 0.20% or 0.20 points to 98.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which fell 5.92% or 1.52 points to trade at 24.14 at the close. Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) declined 5.16% or 0.58 points to end at 10.66 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) was down 3.58% or 2.90 points to 78.05.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 70 to 23 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) fell to 5-year lows; down 5.16% or 0.58 to 10.66.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.37% or 9.30 to $2,518.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.77% or 2.77 to hit $70.78 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 4.36% or 3.38 to trade at $74.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 101.75.
