Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC (BR:KBC), which rose 2.14% or 1.210 points to trade at 57.790 at the close. Meanwhile, ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 0.86% or 0.110 points to end at 12.960 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 0.69% or 0.85 points to 124.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI), which fell 4.37% or 4.28 points to trade at 93.76 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 2.71% or 0.51 points to end at 18.11 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was down 1.81% or 0.90 points to 48.92.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 95 to 54 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.37% or 4.28 to 93.76. Shares in Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.71% or 0.51 to 18.11.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.51% or 5.95 to $1167.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 4.39% or 2.17 to hit $51.61 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 4.86% or 2.52 to trade at $54.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.0626, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.8442.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 101.29.
